Google introduced the new version of Find my Device Offline
After a year-long trial, Google has introduced the new version of Find My Device.
This technology will facilitate finding offline phones using a network of over a billion Android devices.
Google has initially introduced the new Find My Device for Android users in the United States and Canada.
It will be introduced in other countries in the coming months.
Users can also search for lost phones using the Find My Device app, even if they are turned off.
According to the company, with the Find My Device app, it will be possible to locate offline phones on the map.
In fact, Google says that even if the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones are powered off or the battery is depleted, they can still be located using this tool.
This technology will soon be available for other devices as well.
Google will provide this technology for devices such as Bluetooth trackers, car keys, wallets, and others.
According to Google, through Find My Device, users can also share their device’s location with others so that friends or family can keep an eye on this valuable device.
The new tracking technology of Find My Device will work on devices based on operating systems Android 9 or later.
When this operating system was introduced in 2018, this new service became available to multiple users.
Keep in mind that with Find My Device, you can still lock the phone or delete its data, but to locate a lost device, an internet connection is required on the phone.
However, now this flaw of Find My Device will be eliminated through offline tracking.
This offline tracking will keep the Bluetooth beacon signal of the phone moving, and it will continue even when the phone is turned off.
